Profile
Dr. Smith came to SKC Siu Engineering with a background in experimental nuclear physics. He has extensive experience in the fields of electron/ion optics, radiation detectors and high voltage equipment. Dr. Smith is an experienced project manager and in his previous job headed a group of physicists, engineers and technicians in the development of a major sub-component of a multi-million dollar physics experiment.
Since 2007 Dr. Smith has been the general manager at SKC Siu Engineering. Under his guidance the company has successfully expanded its operations into the fields of mechanical engineering, drafting and design, welders training and the inspection and certification of lifting devices.
Dr. Smith is also an experienced computer programmer and his current interests are in the development of database driven web applications. He wrote the YourCrane application that allows users to easily retrieve engineering certificates, related to stability testing and annual inspection of mobile cranes and boom trucks.
