Mr. Connelly-Reed came to SKC Siu Engineering with a background in mechanical and materials engineering. Previously Mr. Connelly-Reed has worked as an Engineer In Training for Weyerhaueser Canada Ltd., Peter Kieweit Sons and Elk Valley Coal Corporation. Mr. Connelly-Reed studies in University included the development of computer models for material processes and protoype based design projects involving mechanical and electrical control systems.
Mr. Connelly-Reed has worked with a variety of industries since starting with SKC Siu Engineering, including the Department of National Defense, Structural Steel Fabricators, heavy equipment manufacturers, ship yards, pipe line and penstock construction & installation. Mr. Connelly-Reed has worked with clients to develop welding procedures for standard and special applications and materials. Mr. Connelly-Reed has experience with the development of welding procedures for mild-steels, QT steel alloys, low-alloy steels, cast irons, Copper-Nickel alloys, aluminum alloys and stainless steels to the requirements of CWB, CSA, AWS, ASME, DNV, ULC, DND and more.
